After Tax Season, we took the weekend and went on a family trip. We didn't go far, just 90 miles down the road, but we did leave the state. It was the first time the boys had been out of TEXAS. We went to Shreveport, LA. We had a pretty uneventful trip to Shreveport, decided we'd go to the Boardwalk and eat dinner and then walk around down by the river for a bit. While we were eating at the Cheesecake Bistro (which is not the Cheesecake Factory), the rains came down. It began to storm and rain really hard. So, we had a nice evening in the hotel room. And, for those of you who have kids you know what a nice evening in the hotel room includes, jumping from bed to bed, turning the tv off and on, and we did get a bath in there somewhere. The next day we made it to the Science Museum call Sci-Port. This museum has been rated by Parents Magazine as one of the top 10 in the US, and we now know why. It was AWESOME! We spent 4 hours and could have spent lots more time if we hadn't gotten hungry! We did find some great Tex-Mex to dine on that evening. One of the joys of our trip was all of the eating that happened! Everyone enjoyed trying to new restaurants although we never made it to a cajun cuisine while visiting Louisiana! The next morning we thought we'd make it back to do some walking around the river, but it was cooler than normal and we had packed warm clothes, so we decided to head home and make a great family day at home. Here are a few pictures of the Science Museum.
