One Week the Beach....the next week SNOW!!!

We had a great time a couple of weekends ago at one of our favorite places to go....Aunt Wandi and Uncle Fun Fun's beach house.  It is such a relaxing time for everyone!  The boys love to play in the playroom loft, and we love to just hang out and not really have too many responsibilities!  The water was too cold for anyone to get in and have fun, but we had a great time in the sand and looking for sea shells.  The boys did test out the water and it their little differences in personalities showed during this moment.  Nathan was full force walking into the water.  Josh would get close, but wouldn't get his feet in.  He tried this about 5 or 6 times and then he finally got his little toes in the water.  Going to the beach always reminds me of what a wonderful God we have to create something as beautiful as the beach for us to enjoy and remember his creations!

On to the next week....we returned home on Sunday evening, only to wake up and see that the forecast is calling for snow during the week.  It did snow just a little on Tuesday and Wednesday, but the bulk of the snow came Thursday night.  School was cancelled for the boys and we stayed at home, WARM and SAFE!  We did go outside for a few minutes, but the snow wouldn't pack well to make a snow man, and we didn't stay long because Nathan took his gloves off, put his hand in the snow, and then proceeded to let us all know his hands were COLD.  One of Josh's favorite things to do when it snows is make snow ice cream.  We had already placed a bowl outside that night to catch the snow so we could make snow ice cream.  When Josh woke up and saw the snow, he told Dan his secret about the snow "I think it's deep enough we can make snow ice cream".  And Dan had him go look in the front yard for the bowl catching the "clean" snow to make snow ice cream.  So, later on Friday afternoon, we brought in our bowl of snow, and mixed our snow ice cream.  Both boys wanted to add a topping of chocolate to their ice cream!  It was a fun day!  i sure wish we had some hills close by to go sledding!
