It's soccer season around the Griffith House, and we have two soccer stars this season! Nathan is playing for the first time in the Under 4 league for the City. This is the first time they have had a league this young, and from the pictures of Nathan, I think you'll be able to see why. Dan is coaching Nathan's team and having fun with that. The only practices they have are for 20 minutes before the games. The bad thing is we're talking a bunch of 3-4 year olds that just don't have much attention span, so most days, by the time they get to the games, the boys have lost interest. Nathan actually just got out and played for a while in the game for the first time today. But as you can see from the pictures, he isn't too happy about it. He was mad because the other boys wouldn't let him kick the ball.
It looks to me like Nathan is much happier OFF the field!!!
Josh has loved being on the soccer field again! He ask everyday if he has soccer practice or a soccer game. He is on a team that most of the kids have been playing together for 3 seasons. Josh and one other boy are the only new members of the team. There is a lot of team unity and team work being taught on this team. Josh's coach is a former professional soccer player from Mexico. Josh has improved greatly from when he joined this team weeks ago. The first game, he was dragging pretty early on and would just go on and off the field when he wanted to. We had to teach him that he couldn't do this. Now, just 4 games later, he's playing the entire time coach has him on the field, and he's going a great job and improving during each game. We have really tried to focus more on playing his best rather than scoring a goal. Although, he did score a goal in his game last week. It's been fun for us all to watch him interact with his new team mates and see his skills improving with each practice and game.
