Valentine's

For school we had to make the snacks for Josh's school party.  Of course we made a sweet snack.  What would a party be without a cupcake or a cookie???  So, we got online and decided to make ladybug cupcakes...pink for the girls and red for the boys.  We had a lot of fun mixing and decorating.  Nathan even joined in on the fun after a nice long nap.  For Nathan's class we just took juice boxes, so we didn't need to do much in the kitchen for that.

Nathan also helping to decorate with the twizzlers.  If you look closely you will see that this ladybug's antennas are on the top of her head.  This cupcake was eaten at home!

Josh is pretty excited about his cupcakes and was ready to eat one right away!

Final Product!  They don't look anything like the picture online, but they were still cute and pretty good!  I guess appearance really doesn't matter when you have the help of a 4 year old and 2 year old.  The kids at school didn't seem to mind what they looked like either!

Josh has been waiting for this cupcake since we made them the day before.  His teacher told me he asked her all day if it was "cupcake time".  She said he even got a classmate to come and ask if it was time to eat the cupcakes, but she unfortunately had to come back and tell Josh it wasn't.
"I'm trying to eat it without getting too much on my fingers"
"Oh nevermind, I'll just put it all over my face!"  All of Josh's classmates were getting the icing all over their lips and then wanted me to take a picture of it.  It was really cute and I have great pictures for their end of year books.
Nathan riding the see-saw at school.  This was his activity of choice after all the sugar.  If it hadn't been for the stoppers on the end of that thing, he would have flipped himself over.
