Swimming Lessons

Josh started swimming lessons last week and he has enjoyed them. He has learned so much already and is more confident in the water. He isn't too thrilled about having to hang on to the sides, and he's not much on going under the water. He says he doesn't want to go under water, but then he enjoys it when he does. Mommy learned something new about Josh last week, and that is he is a strong willed child. When he doesn't want to do something, he isn't going to do it. We learned this when hanging on to the side of the pool became an issue. We have been working with him and he hung on last Friday for 5 seconds. We have started jumping in from the side, and swimming to the steps. Josh is swimming all on his own under the water, but he forgets to open his eyes to see where he is and gets a little disoriented and that scares him. Mommy has really enjoyed spending this time with Josh, and the same for Josh. He loves Ms. Carol his swim teacher, and she loves him too. Next week Nathan starts swim lessons. We'll post on how he is doing as well!
